How to Create a Custom YouTube Channel URL
Creating a custom YouTube channel URL is a great way for your viewers to easily find your channel. Instead of using the long and ugly channel URL that YouTube assigns to you once you create your channel, you can shorten it up. You can watch the How-To video below or read the blog post.
However, there are a few requirements for making a custom Channel URL:
- Have 100 or more subscribers
- Be at least 30 days old
- Have an uploaded photo as channel icon
- Have uploaded channel art
Step 1: Login to YouTube and Click YouTube Settings
Step 2: Under Your Channel Name Click “Advanced”
Step 3: Click “Create Custom URL” (If You Are Eligible)
- This channel is new and does not have 100 subscribers so it is not eligible for a custom channel URL.
Step 4: Create a Custom Channel URL & Click Save
Once you save, this will be your new channel URL. Keep in mind that anyone who clicks on your old channel URL link will still be redirected to your channel.
If you don’t fill up all of the requirements to create your custom YouTube channel URL, you can purchase a domain off of GoDaddy.com and set up domain forwarding to your current YouTube channel URL.
